The mantra of a beautiful soul who inspired so many
Who was singing songs and dancing in Disneyland Paris last month. Who was walking the catwalk at the Neon show earlier in the year for Future Dreams Charity and who sadly died this week.
Nicky Newman was 35 years old and had metastatic stage 4 cancer. She was an inspiration to her Instagramily (as she called her 333k followers on the social media platform.) There are over 300k comments on her final post, thanking her for her positivity as she certainly did Go Grab Life – the all too little that she was given. Rest in Peace dear lady.
One day he’s standing with Steven Bartlett (Diary of a CEO), the next Jue James (one of our dear Contributors.)
‘Standing on the shoulders of giants’ once more…
Simon Alexander Ong is a life-coach. His book Energize focuses on: ‘The art and science of energy management.’
1. How to identify your most productive time of day.
2. Why slowing down can actually help you to speed up.
3. Why energy is infectious and how to make the most of that.
4. How to set boundaries with people and time.
5. How to create energetic friendships and networks.
6. How to make the most out of every single moment and achieve more than you ever thought possible.
Nicky Newman was a GREAT example – Go Grab Life!
Another inspiring lady is featured above:
Julia Bradbury is a British TV presenter who has re-examined her life since being diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.
She now gets outside every day, as she promised herself she would, after surgery for a mastectomy. She’s taken what she’s learned and released a book this week. She believes walking is a superpower – we’re inclined to agree.
The book features ideas to improve your health, which are supported by experts and based in science.
It talks of the benefits of walking to our mental health, how getting outside in the morning light can re-engineer our day, how meditative walking benefits us, how important restorative sleep is, what part breath work plays in our health.
If you can’t engage with nature outside, for whatever reason, bring it in and fill your home with plants. However you do it – GREEN ‘Energize’s us!
Hope – from Dr Rangan Chatterjee on his Feel Better, Live More podcast this week:
‘When I started medical school in 1995, we were taught that one in four people was likely to develop cancer in their lifetime. Today, that statistic has changed to one in two – a rapid rise that can’t be explained by genetics. But if our modern diet and lifestyles are the cause, we have more control than we might think.’
This is fascinating – a completely different way to consider cancer: It’s not random, it’s often non genetic, so can we lower our risk? Professor Seyfried believes so…
Yes to Life are the UK’s only integrative cancer charity. They bring together Professor Seyfried’s metabolic theory and conventional treatments. Their annual conference has excellent feedback each year. There are a few tickets left. Watch out for Denise’s article in their current magazine, which will be shared on social media on October 2nd. This issue focuses on Movement – Julia Bradbury would approve…
Intuition. Powerful. Having it downplayed and belittled can have huge effects on our mental, as well as physical health. Speaking of mental health, next article is about a trauma summit that’s currently free to air.
