Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan’s relationship fascinated us

Chances are this one will be likewise.  When Harry Met Sally was the epitome of rom-coms in the late Eighties.  Today Gabor Maté has earned a reputation as the King of Trauma, now he interviews The Prince.  No, we don’t have tickets, but yes, we do recommend Gabor’s work on our site.

Health Anxiety.  Dr Blum believes that people are suffering from it more than ever: ‘Our health system is solely designed to identify the  disease. You get sick, you get a diagnosis and then a pill. Unfortunately, band-aids aren’t enough. This is unacceptable. Instead, we must find and treat the triggers that cause disease.’

Exactly – cause not effects.  That’s what needs treating in order to prevent recurrence and truly heal.  And this is why Dr Blum has joined our site…

She and her team specialise in  reversing chronic conditions by treating the root cause.  She knows it works because she’s healed from arthritis and Hashimoto’s herself.

‘What’s the difference between dirt and soil?’ This film asks.  Extinction and abundance is the answer.  It also asks ‘Can we feed the world without destroying it?’  Yes is the answer.

For the next few days you can watch the entire film free of charge by clicking here.  We did.  You can find it on the Sustainability resource on our site too.

An oldie (2015), but goodie.  We had this (3 times) last week: Straight out of the oven, then with peas and broccoli added in, then as a side with a salmon fillet (for those in the family that still do).

So easy and there are no issues re-heating vegan dishes (another plus).  Definitely one to make again.

Note: the video is not exactly the same as the recipe – all sweet potato on the video, a 50/50 mix of sweet and ordinary potato on the recipe… Jamie!

Stem cells

Many of the conventional cancer treatments are unable to destroy stem cells.  So it comes back. And it comes back…

We added this research paper to our cancer resource this week.  Many of these natural products are inexpensive and easy to consume.

Alkaloids:

Berberine – in roots and stem of numerous plants

Piperine – in black and long pepper

Capsaicin – hot peppers

Flavanoids:

Quercetin – many plant species

Polyphenols:

Curcumin (turmeric)

Resveratrol – skins of grapes and berries

Why wouldn’t you give yourself the best chance to say goodbye to cancer forever?

Dr Giles Yeo leaning against a brick wall

Dr Yeo MBE joined our site this week too.  He’s an obesity researcher at Cambridge University.

We all know that losing weight is just a matter of burning more calories than we consume.  Right?  Er, no.  A calorie is not just a calorie (as we’ve quoted many times…)

Why Calories Don’t Count was added to our obesity and weight loss resource this week.  From it you can learn what you really need to be counting instead.

From Proveg’s Twitter account this week: ‘The vote passed with flying colours! Students of the University of Cambridge voted for adopting a fully plant-based menu across Cambridge’s catering services.  Considering that Stirling University did the same in November, we hope to see a domino effect!’

Some of Dr Yeo’s students will be on a diet change, 1000’s of plant-based recipes here to give them some ideas…

Road-tested my bargain from last week’s blog during the week.  Oat milk for a few pence/cents – tick.  Almond milk – tick.  This little machine is going to pay for itself in a matter of weeks.  Recommend!

This lady has an incredibly powerful way with words.  Here’s a piece from one of her best-selling books.  We feature her site, of course.

I wonder if you know,
the work your body has done today.
And every day.
How much disease it has fought off.
How many times it could have failed but battled on,
how many ways it could have broken but did not.

I wonder if you know,
the work your body has done today.
And every day.
And each day it has done this amazing job,
without your help,
without your approval,
your acceptance,
your kindness.

Each day it has soldiered on,
regardless of the constant stream of negativity,
pulsing its way from your brain to your cells.
Not good enough.
Not attractive enough.
Not the right shape.

Perhaps it’s time to see your body for what is truly is,
An amazing and mind-blowingly competent machine.
To get your soul to where it needs to be in this life.
To let you live.

I wonder if you know,
how much better you would be as a team.
I wonder.

So true – our body’s natural default is to heal.  Believe it!

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
