Do it to yourself – every morning – in the bathroom mirror: ‘It is impossible to have a negative thought because for our entire lifetime, you have had a positive association with giving someone else a high five.’ This gem of a broadcast is episode #432 of The Ultimate Health Podcast that we’ve just discovered. Many of our featured medical professionals have been interviewed, it’ll be added to our site this week. (Thank you Jue). We signed up for a free Summit in January with Mel and Deepak Chopra amongst others. The claim is to ‘make 2022 your best year ever’ – A high 5 to that too.
Meantime in downtown Santa Cruz, Bolivia our youngest was checking out these aloe vera beauts. Excellent both for your skin and your general health, sadly she can’t fit them in her hand luggage to bring some back for me. Dr Axe has extensive information on it’s many benefits including:
- Soothing skin rashes and irritations
- Soothing burns
- Healing cold sores
- Moisturising hair and scalp
- Treating constipation
- Aiding digestion
- Boosting the immune system
- Providing antioxidants and reducing inflammation
- Treating diabetes
Dr Nasha Winters (The Metabolic Approach to Cancer) picked up on an article we featured on last week’s blog – thank you Dr Nasha!
Health in a glass.
Needed a vit C hit today after a couple of days of indulgence.
Ate a lot of things that I’ve not eaten for a while and my body was craving for some ‘good stuff’. Happy to oblige with loads of freshly squeezed organic oranges.
Feeling better now – convinced that my body has not missed the dairy and fish one bit.
It was an interesting ‘test’ for me; yes, I enjoyed the Christmas fayre, miss it? Not a bit.
Onwards and upwards.
Could Hip Hop save the world? This new film features notable influencers from the fields of Hip Hop, medicine, sports, entertainment, policy, and politics weighing in on the singular most deadly threat to American society that mainstream media doesn’t want to talk about: Food injustice.
“The alcohol industry, fast food industries, tobacco industries target communities of colour,” Dr. Greger (Nutrition Facts) says in the trailer. “They don’t make a dime if you’re healthy,” Dr. Barnard (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine) adds.
The film’s not on any streaming services, yet, but as it follows in the footsteps of Cowspiracy and What the Health we’re expecting that to change very soon.
He makes it look so easy… Because it is and what a difference it makes. A new year is a great opportunity to bring in new habits and these have got to be easier to keep up than most.
You may do most of them already – confession, I only do about 12 on a regular basis, but I’m encouraged now to do more.

“Drink water from the spring where horses drink. The horse will never drink bad water. Lay your bed where the cat sleeps. Eat the fruit that has been touched by a worm. Boldly pick the mushroom on which the insects sit. Plant the tree where the mole digs. Build your house where the snake sits to warm itself. Dig your fountain where the birds hide from the heat. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time with the birds – you will reap all of the days’ golden grains. Eat more green – you will have strong legs and a resistant heart, like the beings of the forest. Swim often and you will feel on earth like the fish in the water. Look at the sky as often as possible and your thoughts will become light and clear. Be quiet a lot, speak little – and silence will come in your heart, and your spirit will be calm and full of peace.”
