The hunt for tickets was on
Thoughts of the environmental impact were far behind. Then we saw this: Coldplay’s website details their co2 emissions, power usage, travel costs, stage show sourcing, an app for fans to see how to travel most efficiently, water usage, minimise waste, a sustainable crew catering system, ethically sourced merchandise, that ‘good causes’ are given 10% of everything they earn, they support nature projects, and they share all this to encourage others.
Going to be a great show next year!
We’ve featured The Blue Zones concept on our site since day one. Looking forward to this 4 part Netflix documentary that will be aired next month.
The Blue Zones are the 5 places in the world where people live the longest, healthiest: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece, and Loma Linda, California. They believe that movement, a plant-slant diet, relationships, a sense of purpose and having a faith, all lengthen lifespans.
‘What is cancer trying to heal in you?’ Asks dear Dr Nasha Winters in her personal testimony:
At the age of 19, she was: ‘Diagnosed with end-stage ovarian cancer and given 3-6 months to live. Crippled with pain, nausea, infections, malnourishment, and muscle wasting, I was uninsured and out of options. But I was also young, naïve, and stubborn. It was up to me to dig deep and find hope. The diagnosis of terminal cancer suddenly shook me awake.
Since that diagnosis in 1991, the years have unfolded as a journey that I continue to this day. What began as a pursuit to heal my own body has evolved into a global mission to transform cancer care.’
She’s an inspiration to us and so many more. Her work is featured on our cancer resource, go Dr Nasha!
‘Smoking causes heart attacks‘ says the packet of 20 Lucky Strikes. Maybe ‘Lucky’ is not the right word for this product? It’s true that ‘smoking seriously harms you and others around you’ – in any language you choose to speak it in.
Smoking means you inhale a number of cancer-causing chemicals, like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are known to cause breast cancer. Breast Cancer UK
Think vaping’s any better? Think again. Often with nicotine and a whole load of other toxic chemicals it’s addictive, cheaper than most cigarettes, marketed to the young and a ticking bomb for health.
Here’s the US Government’s dictionary of vaping devices and substance explanation.
Scary. Very scary.
That was a heavy couple of articles. Let’s light a scented candle and relax – or maybe not…
This article from Live Love Fruit claims that ‘regular scented candles are actually a major source of indoor air pollution’.
The article is backed up by research to support it and will have you thinking not only about which fragrance you would like in your home, but asking what is it and the candle itself made of?
Yesterday’s 5 minute (we promise that’s all it took to prep and cook) lunch.
2 x packs of organic gnocchi (pureed potato)
A large handful of rocket (from our garden)
Several sliced tomatoes (from a friend’s garden)
Salt/pepper/olive oil
That’s it.
Delicious.
Dr Lara Briden shared some good news for endometriosis sufferers on her Instagram feed this week:
‘Yay, the long-awaited follow-up to the 2013 Italian NAC-endometriosis study. This time, they got equally exciting results with significant reductions in pain and shrinking of endometriomas. Interestingly, they dosed it for only three days per week, for reasons they explain in the paper. They also discuss various mechanisms but do not mention what I think is the most important mechanism: NAC converts to glutathione, a powerful immune modulator.’
As the research paper shares: ‘N-acetylcysteine is effective in reducing endometriosis-related pain symptoms, the size of endometriomas and the serum levels of Ca125. Furthermore, it showed a positive impact on patient fertility. NAC may represent a good therapeutic option for symptomatic women with endometriosis and pregnancy desire.’
How does this pic make you feel? Yep, we all want more of that.

We can now accept donations to our work via Stripe. They have given us charity status/rates, and any monies will be paid directly into our charity bank account.
Facebook fundraisers have proved challenging: yes, there are no charges – except when they decide to pay your donations to your account in dollars – and your bank charge you 26 euros for conversion. That was in December 2022. 35 exchanges later, admittance of error later – we still haven’t been refunded.
We’re not mad, or sad – just done. Welcome Stripe! Here’s the direct link. Thank you in advance for supporting our work. The DZ Team
PS If you would like to make a monthly/quarterly donation do let us know and we’ll set that up for you.
