Still Hungry? Or Just Enjoying Eating?

Still Hungry, Or Just Enjoying Eating?

Michael Pollan, he of those 7 famous words: ‘Eat food.  Not too much.  Mostly plants’

joins the crusade against UPF’s (Ultra processed foods) in this fascinating interview with Lewis Howes (The School of Greatness).  During the interview Michael poses a question we should ask ourselves: ‘Are you eating because you’re still hungry?  Or just because you’re enjoying it?  He shares that whilst other cultures suggest you stop eating when you’re 75-80% full, the US (and the UK in our experience) ply you with ‘all you can eat buffets’ and the like.  Good for manufacturers’ profits, but not for us.  There’s a theme running through our watching and reading currently…

Dr Chris van Tulleken released this book last month.

At No2 on the Amazon UK charts of most sold and read books this week, it seems that we’re not the only ones taking note of the  ‘clear and present danger’ posed to our health.

It’s a terrifying, informative and fascinating read.

One minute.  This video is one minute long.  One minute is all it takes to get some ground-rules in place.  Prof Robert Thomas knows his stuff.  You’ll find his work (with Keep-HealthyCancernetHow to Live) all over our site.  Time for change.  Or as the video says: It’s time to take control.

Supplements.  What’s in them?  Which ones (if any) are beneficial?  Which ones don’t do what they claim to do?  This 9-part documentary series includes alternative medicine specialists, functional medicine doctors, scientists, researchers, and insiders from the supplement industry.  Some familiar names from our site too: Dr Joel Fuhrman, Jonathan Otto and Dr and Mama Z (Natural Living Family), to name a few.

We’ve signed up, it’s free, or you can watch the first episode in it’s entirety on YouTube too.

Robin Daly, Samantha Womack and Yes to Life volunteers

So much to smile about on this photograph:

Samantha Womack (aka Roxie in the UK’s Eastenders) looking so well after working her way through breast cancer

Yes to Life being recognised on national TV and in the  UK press for the wonderful work they do.

Even the fact that Sam has Patricia Peat’s The Cancer Revolution book under her arm (it’s fantastic).

We’ve just voted for Sam and Robin Daly’s Yes to Life charity to receive a National Lottery Award because we value the work they do.  You can vote here – you’ve until the 16 May.

Rice face cream, for dry skin.  It’s organic, locally sourced and just over 3 euros for a glass 50ml pot.

Bought 2, wish I’d bought more.  Feels amazing.

No, they don’t deliver.  Shame… (They’re based in Bolivia).

No ‘nastie’s’ here.

Lots of Bank Holidays in France each month of May.  Spent the last one at a local venue with 20 food trucks and a lunchtime talent competition for entertainment whilst we enjoyed these lovely offerings: ‘Living Food’ says the banner.  100% organic, raw and vegetable.  All they had left by the time we arrived was the dried tomato and fennel tart with thai salad, hummus and home-made gluten free bread.  Delicious.

Times have changed.  To find this at an event in SW France… well, it wouldn’t have happened even 10 years ago.  Progress (not perfection).

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
