Processed meats are known to cause cancer.  We’re not saying this – The World Health Organisation is and the European Parliament voted this week to advocate a plant-based diet.

‘There is mounting scientific evidence that the consumption of meat and dairy products can have a detrimental impact on human health. The World Health Organisation warns that processed meats are carcinogenic, that red meat probably increases your risk of bowel cancer, and that eating the equivalent of less than two slices of bacon a day increases your chance of colorectal cancer by 18 percent,’ Dr Joanna Swabe said.  Thank you Plant Based News team for sharing.

Some people have such limited time on this planet and yet they make the biggest impact.  Sweet girl, your beauty, positivity and sheer talent will stay with us forevermore.  In one breathtaking audition you not only entertained us and won our hearts but you taught us grace.  You led by example.  You begged us not to feel sympathy but instead to grasp life with both hands regardless of the imperfections we perceive to be all around.  Thank you for sharing your heart with us before it stopped beating, so that we may better understand our own selves.  Your selflessness knew no bounds.  Sleep peacefully.   The slumber of the loved. For that you truly were.

Mimosa in a vase on an oak table

3 euros well spent: Mimosa – it smells as good as it looks.  Grown locally, bought locally.  Sustainability at its best.

Mountain tops at Ax-les-Thermes in the Pyrenees and a bright blue sky with a few white clouds

Why this week’s blog is a day late.  So good for my physical and mental health.  You can’t blame me – can you?

The dream! This is Double-zero.org to us…

Dr Rupy Aujla with a dish of food, on his book cover: Doctor's Kitchen 3-2-1

We bought this for a bargain 99p from Amazon UK Kindle back in July.  We’ve used it many times – it’s back on offer this month.  Thoroughly recommended:

  • 3 portions of fruit and vegetables
  • 2 people served
  • 1 pan

Dr Rupy believes that food is medicine.  We do too…

Happy days.

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
