Speaking Grief

6 September 2021|Health, Nutrition, Testimonials

Sarah Harding

Sarah Harding was a beautiful young woman who had fame, fortune and metastatic breast cancer.

Watching one of her friends being interviewed on UK breakfast TV this morning she shared how Sarah (one of the singers in the incredibly successful girlband Girls Aloud) had found a lump in her breast during lockdowns last year and did nothing about it for months.

By the time she sought medical care she had several lumps and the cancer had infiltrated her lymph nodes, it progressed to stage four and she left her family bereft yesterday, aged 39.

Like Sarah’s family and friends, many find themselves grieving.  We added the Speaking Grief resource to our site this week.  It’s an extensive website, full of advice from experts (including Megan Devine, whose book It’s OK That You’re Not OK also features on our site), testimonies from fellow grievers and a full-length documentary, all available free of charge.

Sheila Kilbane MD in a kitchen

This lady has a book released on 14 September: Healthy Kids Happy Moms details of which we shared on our Facebook page at the weekend.

We don’t currently have a section on children’s health on our site, but when we do….

Sheila Kilbane MD says:  ‘Fifty percent of American children suffer from chronic illnesses—more than at any other time in our history. Chronic childhood illnesses have gone from being a rarity to being the norm.’

She commented on our post: ‘I looked through your website and what an incredible resource.  Thank you for doing what you are doing.’

Thank you Sheila for your kind words – all the best with the launch!

Dale Pinnock with a bowl of healthy food

Dale Pinnock, aka The Medicinal Chef has been on our site since Day 1.  His podcast joined his site in being featured this week. Love his easy manner and interesting guests.

This book accompanied a Channel 4 series in the UK broadcast in 2019.  It’s full of nutritional information and easy to cook recipes for family meals.

99p, $2,99 or €1.19 on Amazon Kindle this month.

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
