Cristiano Ronaldo Euro 2020 Healthy Mind Double-zero

This guy used to cry and cry and cry; every missed chance, every lost game.  Last night I watched him try and try and try; but the defending champions, his team, couldn’t get an equaliser… Euro 2020: 4 matches, 5 goals.  36 years old.  YouTube have a video clip of a young Ronaldo sweeping the streets of Funchal, in Portugal, helping his mum with one of her jobs.  From inner city living to one of the best paid athletes on the planet his mental drive is there, for all to see.  He won’t have taken last night’s defeat well.  He will be back – he NEVER gives up.

Breast Cancer Miss Guadeloupe Rose Magazine Double-zero

This is Miss Guadeloupe on the cover of Rose Magazine; A free quarterly French magazine focusing on breast cancer.

Another beautiful human, this one’s the first lady to grace the cover of the magazine in it’s 10 year history who has NOT got breast cancer.  So, why is she featured?

Because she was disqualified from the Miss World competition; for posing topless in a breast cancer awareness campaign.

Dr Josh Axe Ancient Nutrition Suncream Zinc Oxide Double-zero

Tough job, but someone had to do it…

Here’s me testing the home-made suncream from Ancient Nutrition on Dr Josh Axe’s site: 2 tbsp zinc oxide (purchased from Amazon), 2 tbsp organic shea butter, 1 tsp pomegranate oil (I didn’t have this…), 10 drops lavender oil, 3/4 cup coconut oil.

Melted together and popped into the re-used tub next to me.  Worked a treat – moisturised skin with no nasties soaking into it.  My summer sorted!

Deliciously Ella Recipes Double-zero Mushroom stroganoff

Deliciously Ella strikes again!

Mushroom Stroganoff: no added sugar, no dairy, organic.

Even the 17 year old in the house approved.

Winner!

Sustainability Flip Flops Double-zero

Picture = One thousand words.  Or not.  My fave flip flops at the weekend.  One minute I was popping indoors to make myself a smoothie, when I went to put them on to get myself a refill this is what I found.  Boo!  My sustainability drive is meaning I’m not replacing them: I have another pair in the house (that I don’t love half as much), but they are fine and will serve me well this summer.  Authenticity.  I’m doing this!  My wardrobe is not having additions until I actually NEED them and we all know need is a very strong word…

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
