Le Petit Prince sitting in number 80

A small space traveller who inspires us to live well and to take care of that which we hold dear is 80 years young this year.

It’s Springtime; season of new growth. This little man took great care of his home in this french children’s classic. It’s author, the writer and aviator Antoine de Saint Exupéry says:

‘Your task is not to see the future, but to enable it’.

Saint Exupéry advocated a society based on respect for human beings, cultural diversity, solidarity, commitment and individual responsibility.  He also said this:

‘When you’ve finished washing and dressing each morning, you must tend your planet’

Nothing’s changed on that one – we really must be more like the Little Prince.  Lot of ideas on the sustainability section of our site.

We love a freebie – this is a massive one!  You can sign up for information on the latest research and science on nutritiondisease, prevention and the environment.

Loads of familiar faces are doing event talks – 85 speakers, 117 lectures…

Dandelion flowers

Who knew?  Dandelion root killing leukemia cells:

‘The results from this study indicate that natural products, in particular Dandelion Root Extract, have great potential, as non-toxic and effective alternatives to conventional modes of chemotherapy available today.’

The study is now 10 years old and the powerful plant is still not being discussed as an alternative…

More research on natural treatments can be found on our site.

Loved these Bolivian juices:

Endorfina –  Spinach, acerola, spirulina, lemon and mandarin

Detox – Lemon, pineapple, green apple, and another couple of ingredients that I can’t make out…

Freshly pressed – and enjoyed (for around 3 euros).

Acerola bush

This is acerola (from the Endorfina juice) in it’s natural state, growing in the sunshine some half an hour from the cafe.

Says Healthline: ‘Acerola is most well-known for being extremely rich in vitamin C. Because of this, it’s often used to help with or prevent colds or flu. It’s also used as an antioxidant nutrient. Together with vitamin C, acerola may be taken to boost immunity.’

Oh to be back picking those from the bush and popping them in my mouth again…

The Diet Myth book cover
Dr Tim believes: ‘The key to health and weight loss lies not in the latest fad diet, nor even in the simple mantra of ‘eat less, exercise more’, but in the microbes already inside us’, an excellent read, great price!

Whilst there’s ‘no place like home’ I very much like this place:

Sheltering from tropical rains overlooking a beautiful park in Santa Cruz Bolivia last month.  The park has just been recognised by The Guinness World Book of Records as having the largest lily pad.  Who knew?

What a view.
