Why do people fail to change?
As one of the comments on this YouTube video shares: ‘The battle hasn’t been not knowing what to do to improve myself it’s been not knowing WHY I refuse to do it.’
Fascinating. Shahroo Izadi knows her stuff. She’s a behavioural change specialist and psychologist. She believes that behaviour change becomes so much easier when we learn to support, value and champion ourselves.
Makes sense. Last week we led our blog with a quote from Steven Bartlett. Here he is once more, interviewing Shahroo on his Diary of a CEO podcast.
Here’s Shahroo’s current best-seller, at a bargain price this month too.
‘Across six US and European cohorts, a substantial burden of inflammatory bowel diseases risk may be preventable through lifestyle modification.’
A massive study has been published in the British Medical Journal showing how lifestyle factors can help in the prevention of inflammatory bowel disease.

These popular sweets are far from nature…
“We found that specific nanoparticles — titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide — ordinarily used in food may negatively affect intestinal functionality,” senior author Elad Tako, who is also an associate professor of food science at Cornell, said in a statement. “They have a negative effect on key digestive and absorptive proteins.”
Let’s get them out of our diets and get back to whole foods.
Speaking of whole foods:
May be the last butternut soup this winter – well it is Spring next week…
Think we saved the best ’til last too.
Really healthy and really delicious!
It’s from Rebel Recipes (again): Spicy Butternut Squash and Coconut Soup.
Think it was the tamari, the peanut butter and the nooch (nutritional yeast), that made it so tasty. We didn’t use the maple syrup that was an optional in the recipe, the flavours were SO good without ‘needing’ the sweetness.

With 7M+ views on YouTube, this video from Pradip Jamnadas, MD, MBBS, FACC, FSCAI, FCCP, FACP is a fascinating watch.
Dr Jamnadas graduated from UCL in the UK, with post-grad training at Yale in the US in cardiology. He currently practices in Orlando, Florida, is a renowned lecturer and teacher, who places emphasis on preventative medicine – and firmly believes in the many benefits of fasting.
Sometimes (often) it takes courage and strength to heal. Our aim is to equip you.
