Meet Ralph

Meet Ralph, you probably already know Ricky…

6 July 2022|Health, Nutrition, Recipes, Sustainability

Ralph is a ‘tester’ in a lab.  Ricky is highlighting what happens to him as he goes about his ‘job.’

Ralph is voiced by Oscar winner Taika Waititi and the short film, which has just been awarded the Grand Prix for Good at Cannes Lions Festival, also features Ricky Gervais and Zac Efron.  It highlights the reality of animal testing, which although banned in 41 countries, is still perfectly legal in most of the world and is sadly making a comeback in Europe today.

Novak Dyokovic kissing the Wimbledon trophy

In the semi-final as I type, will he being doing this once more in a few days time? Dyokovic is a plant-based athlete par excellence.  But it’s not just his physical health that he prepares for Wimbledon, arguably the greatest tennis tournament in the world.  Meditation gets his mind aligned, as this article from The Times shows.

5 minutes to make this lentil-based curry (dahl).  It’s had all sorts of adaptations over the past months, a staple in our kitchen.  Enjoy!

Teens celebrating

‘This’ happened on Saturday night; Our youngest celebrating her 18th birthday.  Massive fail on sustainability with the balloon arch, but the rest, well, begged and borrowed.

Hangar as a party venue

We used an agricultural hangar for the venue, pallets for the bar, garden flowers for the tables, borrowed lights from a local farmer, our daughter painted the signs on card, we used paper plates – and it was fabulous!

Bar made of pallets

One bar!  Produced by our eldest with pallets and an electric drill…

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty.
