The World’s Sexiest Man?

The World’s Sexiest Man?

David Gandy

Meet David Gandy.  42 year old model.

Whether you think he is, or not, he’s in fab shape.  So what’s his ethos on nutrition?

“The only thing I really stay away from is processed foods, like white pasta, white bread, anything packaged,” he says. He remembers his grandparents in the East End, making sandwiches — “thick layers of butter and dripping on doorstop bread. They were never fat because the food was real. Not full of preservatives.”

Not seeing a lot of fat on him either…  So what’s his diet?

“If you are training enough and you are active enough then you shouldn’t have to worry about calories,” he says. He has to eat about 3,500 calories a day or he drops weight. “Getting the right amount of protein is critical.” But he isn’t a low-carb fan. “You’re not going to gain anything just eating protein either. You need fats and carbs as well.”

Bright guy – that’s sexy.

How to go plant-based cookbook, Deliciously Ella's minestrone soup, a Christmas card with the nativity scene and pinecones

Dr Mark Hyman, smiling, holding a mug

Dr Mark Hyman has featured on our site since Day 1.  His new book is released next month (16 February in UK, 21 February in US).

Please do not be taken in by the scam that for some reason is still showing on Amazon France (Young Forever The Secrets to Living Notebook) – indicating that the book has already been released.  It hasn’t.

Please remove it Amazon – before anyone else gets scammed!

Our link above takes you directly to Mark’s site for the new book, featuring an explanatory video and a stack of free bonus material too – a much better option.

Cannabis flowers and leaves

France has just overturned an 11 month ban on the sale of cannabis flowers and leaves, no longer considering them as a drug.

We feature a wealth of scientific research on our site, extolling the benefits of CBD oil in the treatment of many diseases/ailments, notably cancer.

The same Instagram account (which has a following of 2.3M) also shared this week that the French government have banned – sorry for the shocking nature of this – the grinding up of male chicks, as of 1 January 2023.

There is now a system where they can sex the chicks earlier.

The thought that male chicks were killed hours after birth, as they were of no use as egg layers, is horrendous….

Very busy, but very interesting and important graphic from cardiologist Dr J Kahn was shared on his social media accounts this week.

Many people have inflamed acidic bodies, focusing on alkaline foods can help get us back to a healthy state.  You can easily check your own body’s ph level with a litmus test kit.

Double-zero uses the neutral ph green as a backdrop to most things we do – there’s a method in our madness.

Soy, flax, chia, mushrooms, celery and parsley are all recommended as natural oestrogen blockers – worth knowing if you, or someone you know has been given Tamoxifen following breast cancer.

Here‘s some published medical research showing the increased risks.

The very beautiful Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain on Boxing Day.  We left those footprints in the sand as we headed for a stunning tapas lunch and a glass of vino tinto (good for our health red wine, all that resveratrol…). The sunshine too, vitamin D in abundance.

Shira Gill joined our site this week.  Minimalism and sustainability are her thing.  We love her book Minimalista, it’s lends itself to being a coffee-table book, but is so much more.

As the sun set on 2022 we reflect on a busy year, with much progress made; connections formed, testimonies from those we’ve helped, followings growing.  So much more to do in 2023 – If you have suggestions for us, want to help, enjoy our content – let us know!

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
