Last night, one of the biggest stages in the world carried one of the most uncomfortable messages.
This advertisement aired during Super Bowl 60 and for that alone it deserves attention. Congratulations to the Seahawks, and sincere thanks to Mr Mike Tyson for sharing a deeply personal and painful story that will, hopefully, shock many into rethinking the direction we’re heading.
You can watch the ad here:

Lead the way, UK.
And it’s encouraging to see a step in the right direction on the other side of the Pond too.
Cancer is no longer a disease of old age. Many are now linking increased cancer rates to what we eat and how we live. A free-to-join online series exploring this very topic begins today – over 275,000 people have already signed up.

You are very welcome Zonia.
The statistics are sobering:
- One in five cancer cases in the US now affects adults under 50
- Cancer is no longer a disease of “old age”
- New research published in Nature Medicine this month identifies 30 modifiable risk factors, many of them diet and lifestyle related
- The World Health Organisation concurs: four in ten cancer cases could be prevented globally
Much more of this is under our own control than we’ve been led to believe.

Today’s The Times newspaper:

The Irish Times joined The Times in sharing new, shocking statistics too.
Two women did something constructive following their own breast cancer experiences. They launched a new brand of healthy drinks. We love to see lived experience turned into something positive.
Wishing you every success, ladies.

Heart Health & Statins: The Conversation Continues.
There has been significant media interest following a new study released last week into the side-effects of statin drugs. Notably, there was little mention of efficacy.
Do you have personal experience of taking statins?
We’d genuinely love to hear from you — whether you’ve experienced side-effects or not. Among those we know who’ve stopped taking them, muscle pain relief was often immediate.
Bone Health, Menopause & the Humble Prune
Bone health is another growing concern.
Osteoporosis is on the rise, particularly among women aged 50+. One article we came across recently highlighted the many benefits of prunes: Rich in minerals, vitamin K, phenolic compounds, and dietary fibre – all of which may work additively or synergistically to support bone health.
Bone health is one of the many ‘joys’ of menopause. These two doctors discuss many of the others in this YouTube clip from last week. Dr Jensen has been part of our huge Women’s Health resource for several years now. We added Dr Pelz this week, along with Dr Romm below.
Ain’t that the truth.

Dr Sara Gottfried’s work continues to feature prominently too. At the same time, we made the difficult decision to remove another physician from our site last week following revelations connecting him with a known criminal.
Integrity matters more than retaining even the most valuable resources.
Politics, Pills & Priorities.
The US Government launched a new website this week promising to slash the price of medication for Americans:
“Find the world’s lowest prices on prescription drugs.”
Cheap drugs are not the solution to our health crisis — but they may allow lower-income families to spend less on medication and more on higher-quality food.
We’ll be watching this space closely.
Sometimes you can’t – or don’t want to – cook from scratch. Sometimes that’s most of the time.
Last week we found a wonderful Italian deli that bridged the gap beautifully. We didn’t make the ravioli – but they did, from scratch, as many Italians do so well.

Aubergine ravioli, paired with:
- A jar of Aldi’s organic tomato sauce
- Some sprouts
- Dessert: organic kiwi
Still packing in plenty of plant points.
We were also told recently that eating kiwi skin is beneficial – apparently that’s where many of the nutrients lie. So now we do.

Small Joys & What’s Ahead.
Winter sunrises.
The first hints of spring.
Bliss.
Can you spot us?
Here are the logos of exhibitors, contributors, speakers and supporters of the sell-out Appleseed Conference, where we’re proud to be Global Partners. It’s happening in just a couple of weeks – we’ll report back.
There are still places available for Yes to Life (the UK’s Integrative Cancer Charity) 2026 conferences. You can attend both for under £100 currently. Genuinely unbelievable value. We’ve attended in recent years and can wholeheartedly recommend them.
