Don’t Judge A Book

By it’s cover. Heard that one before? Mmm, SO many times…

This lady judged herself. She then quit alcohol completely in 2018 and has never looked back. She looks – and says she feels – amazing!

Janey Lee Grace’s The Sober Club is now featured on our resource. Look at our smiley (sober) faces in the House of Commons last month…

It was also in 2018 when our houseguest posted this pic of me on social media. We were celebrating the end of my breast cancer treatments with a bottle of fizz and my husband gave me a small glass so I could raise it, to me. I was then judged and accused of double standards after sharing my ‘alcohol free testimony’ on One Year No Beer‘s website. I may have raised my glass – but I didn’t drink it….

Janey’s story, filmed in my hometown. Only she could end a TEDx talk with **** *** (Not that I’m judging).

Another lady’s story. This one was judged mercilessly by so many, yet this film paints a very different picture of the ‘cover’ the media gave us.

No Bake Chocolate Mint Cups from Laura at The First Mess

Made these beauties yesterday. Dinner party tonight: A 15 min, prep ahead dessert. We’ll serve with fresh berries and soy cream. NO added sugar, but don’t judge a book – they taste AMAZING. 1000’s more healthy recipes on our site.

This new release is currently No5 most watched in France this week. Good to see gut health getting the publicity it deserves.

Gut health classic on offer on Kindle UK and France this month too. We’ve featured Dr Desmond’s work on our site since day one. With good reason.

Works both ways: Dr Desmond shares our work too!

A ‘first’ for our digestive health this week. Anyone know what this is? (Click on the pic for an article from Healthline showing it’s gut benefits)

Don’t judge me please; yes, this is packet, white, pasta (organic, but pure carbs). A 10 min lunch (it’s been a full-on week): pop the ‘you know what’ from above pic in a pan and boil in lightly salted water until it’s soft. Cook the tagliatelle in boiling water too. Drain them both and mix together, with sun-dried tomatoes (from a jar), capers (from a jar) and add pepper and olive oil (from a bottle!).

Don’t judge and don’t dismiss either – is the message from this clip featuring Bessel van der Kolk. He has worked in the trauma field for 50 years and is the author of The Body Keeps the Score, a fantastic book, which is featured on our Healthy Mind resource.

It’s a powerful commentary on trauma: we have no idea what people have been through and how it still affects them now.

Don’t judge a photo either: It may look peaceful now, but Winnie the Pooh would have called it a very blustery day.

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
