The Greatest Love of All

Was written by this lady’s cousin. Who knew? Her cousin never knew how many weeks Whitney Houston’s beautiful version spent at the top of the charts either. She sadly died of metastatic breast cancer weeks after it hit No1… It was this loss which inspired Dr. Jenn Simmons to dedicate her life to transforming how we approach breast cancer treatment and prevention, focusing on the concept of creating health rather than suppressing symptoms.

Denise is honoured to be sharing a stage with this integrative oncologist in a few months time in West Palm Beach Florida at the Appleseed Project Conference.

Dr Jenn’s new book is our current read. It’s a steal at £1.58 on Amazon Kindle UK, Kindle US at $1.99.

We’re reading how heart disease can be an issue for breast cancer patients, particularly after left breast radiotherapy. This research from Pubmed supports her claim.

Dr Jenn Simmons; whose work was added to our cancer resource this week.

This film focuses on the negative impact of seed oils on our bodies. The producers Heart & Soil have just shared that the US President Elect has: ‘announced he’ll be watching the premiere of “Fed A Lie” on Nov 22 to… and I quote… “Watch seed oils die like a dog”’. Meantime Zoe are still carrying an article claiming that they reduce the risk of heart disease… Mmmm.

A beautiful family picture. Is it of the next United States Secretary of Health and Human Services? 70 year old Robert F Kennedy jr and his wife Cheryl Hines certainly look the part. Not a lot of ‘don’t do as I do, do as I tell you’ going on there!

pink pills on yellow surface

Birth control pills affecting thyroid function. Anyone warn you? Nor us… This BMJ research shows: ‘Longer history of taking birth control pills was strongly associated with hypothyroidism, especially of more than 10 years.’ It’s a big study, worth questioning before beginning a new protocol. Lots of solid guidance on our autoimmune resource.

person holding medicines

Antibiotics affecting gut health. Anyone warn you? Nor us… This Science Direct research shows: ‘the persistent effects of antibiotic exposure during pregnancy and infancy, indicating long-term consequences such as altered microbial composition and an increased susceptibility to diseases’ among other issues. Another big study. Lots of solid guidance on our gut health resource.

Back (once again) to Ozempic… Dr Michael Greger is the founder of Nutrition Facts, a well reputed source of information. He’s just released a book on this fashionable weight loss drug. There’s a 5 min preview of the audiobook here. Again lots of solid guidance on our weight loss resource.

Funky plant pot pic received yesterday from our neighbour at the wellbeing event we attended two weeks ago. Why did she send them? Because she got the idea from us – those healthy hints and tips go far and wide. The talented Rosy made them from waterproof fabric – love it!

Delicious easy cauliflower curry lunch from Dietician Debbie who’s joined our recipe resource this week.

Carrot and Ginger Soup – an easy lunch from Love & Lemons this week too

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
