Cancer‘s front and centre of so many people’s lives and the pink ribbon of breast cancer never more so than this past month. Most people don’t know the origin of the pretty pink October Rose ribbon however. It was about fundraising initially, though for raising awareness of prevention of the disease, not funding treatment of it – and it wasn’t pink either. This week’s UK Budget revealed some ‘mixed messaging’ when it comes to health. Good that vaping liquid is being taxed, good that tax on tobacco is increasing, again. Good that tax on alcoholic drinks is increasing, but why cut tax on draught drinks? To encourage the community aspect of drinking in pubs/restaurants?
