Momentum

Jacob Williams, Denise Stevenson, Robin Daly MBE, Dr Juergen Winkler

You know when change is in the air? You sense it. You feel it. You just know the tipping point is imminent. Many working in the ‘wellness space’ (what even is wellness?) concur.

Lasting change comes from within. Within institutions. Within establishments. Within us. It’s really the only change worth having. It takes time and skill to navigate. It’s been a long time coming, but coming it is.

We’re proud to be part of that change at Double-zero. What a week we’ve just had with these change-makers amongst others: Jacob Williams, Robin Daly MBE and Dr Jeurgen Winkler. Here’s Jacob’s story, which we’ve added to our prostate cancer testimonials

Next in the line-up above is Robin Daly MBE, Founder and Chairman of Yes to Life, a wonderful cancer non-profit in the UK. They are marking their 20th year of ‘offering individual support through their helpline, website, information via blogs and publications, radio show, workshops, talks and conferences, connecting people to therapies and practitioners.’

We’re fierce cheerleaders of their work – would you take 5 minutes to nominate us for one of their awards? We believe we sit best in either: 1. Yes to Life Impact Award. Recognises a company that has made a game-changing contribution to our mission, or

2. Corporate Champion Award. For a business that has shown ongoing dedication through funding, awareness, or innovation.

Thank you in advance. ‘Award-winning charity’ for Double-zero has a rather lovely ring to it!

Speaking of ‘wellness’ and what it actually is, here’s a way to find out more. We’ve signed up to these summits in previous years and found them to be a wealth of information. It’s free to join. There are lots of familiar faces; Dr Eric Zielinski from Natural Family Family (Healthy Body resource), Elissa Goodman (Cancer Testimonials), Professor Tim Spector (Nutrition resource), James and Laurentine from Food Matters, (Nutrition resource) and many new ones too.

There are certainly a host of celebrities in the ‘wellness’ space. At Double-zero we focus on health professionals and first-hand healing stories. Those are our influencers! We’re currently reading Dr Joel Warsh (Gator)’s new book: Parenting at Your Child’s Pace, with a view to including it in our Children‘s Health Resource.

Truth from Niall Kenyon at Stronger-longer-fitter. We’ve said it before – Time for Change.

A great change here: Last month ‘France enacted Law No. 2025-188 (1) to prohibit the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in cosmetics, textiles and ski waxes by January 2026, with additional restrictions on all PFAS-containing textiles by 2030. The law also introduces a tax on manufacturers whose activities lead to PFAS discharges.’

A positive change. You can learn more about the consequences of ‘forever chemicals’ on our Sustainability resource.

No PFA’s in these cast-iron pan cooked, organic potato chunks in coconut oil, sea-salt and ground black pepper: Heat teaspoon of coconut oil in a hot pan, fry potato cubes until crispy, add salt and pepper, toss and serve. Delicious.

And smile. Doctors reminding us that yes, it’s very serious work answering questions on the Best Answer for Cancer doctor’s panel at the Appleseed Conference. It’s very important to laugh too. Balance. Our fave pic from an intense 3 days. All the sessions were recorded and will be added to their site in the coming weeks.

John Malanca VP, Dr Winkler, Dr Stroup, Dr Goodyear, Dr Simmons, Dr Devlin

And breathe. 4 days of intensive work was followed by this. What a view. Until next year Palm Beach…

Denise Stevenson founded the health and wellness charity Double-zero.org in 2021 after healing from stage 3 breast cancer at (5-zero) and realising there was no one source to access the wealth of resources that had guided her back to health without the mastectomy her oncologist said was a certainty. Denise is a church founder and president, author and local councillor. She's English-born and has French nationality after living there with her husband and 3 girls for the past 20 years.
