5K for 5K

‘Simplicity is Key’ says the tote bag and Nacho found his 5K on Saturday morning pretty simple. Here is Denise with her son-in-law collecting his running pack the day before joining 5K others on an early Sunday morning 5K run through the centre of Santa Cruz in Bolivia.


A 5am wake up too. Makes sense to start the race at 7am – all the traffic restrictions were over by 9am – minimal inconvenience for all, yes, Simplicity is Key.


All things matcha were the order of the day as we were up and about to watch the race: A matcha latte for Rebecca, a matcha tonic with ice and lemon for me. Another first (which won’t be a last).

In Bolivian this is called Tamales and there is absolutely no translation to this one. It contains a ground corn paste and cheese. Boiled in the corn leaf for an environmentally friendly wrapping solution. Delicious.

I was kindly gifted flowers by my son-in-law’s father at a restaurant this week.

The staff assumed it was my birthday and brought me dessert.

A yoga class with a view on Saturday morning – the 23rd floor of a skyscraper in Santa Cruz. Definitely returning next week for another hour and a half’s session!
