This time last year I was in bed in complete agony, not able to move my body, it was a struggle to get down the stairs, my whole body ached in pain, I felt depressed at the thought of my new life in pain, the life I had was over and I would have to change everything! My career path and my whole life all due to the fact I had been diagnosed with this horrible disease rheumatoid arthritis. I had been on the waiting list for 4 months for an appointment with a rheumatoid specialist. I was always tired and I couldn't move my body, how on earth was I going to run my business, attend night school & run around after my family with this diagnosis my life would never be the same again!!
I knew Denise from church I had always loved & respected her and I was in awe following her journey & of how she was using food & clean living to combat cancer, I never gave it a second thought of how food could impact your life, I was amazed how this could be true, I remember Denise had given me her book on our last meeting together so I dug it out and started to read about this new way of thinking and how it could combat disease in our bodies.
It didn't take me long to finish the book, It had completely inspired me to stop feeling sorry for myself and take action! Arthritis wasn't going to be my diagnosis and stop me living my best life, I was going to fight it to have a healthy body without disease!!
I started by looking at what I was putting into my body and made some big changes in my diet, eliminating dairy , I put a water filter on my tap and started eating clean & healthy foods. Looking at the clean 15 and the dirty dozen! How did I not know about different foods that make such a difference to your body and mind! I also started a body cleanse called Qenda, ultimate fibre cleanse. This was to detox my body from all the impurities that I had put into it over the years! Wow, there was a lot!!
It took awhile for me to understand what a massive change my body was going though! I didn't see an instant change in my aches and pains at the beginning so I introduced CBD to my new health programme, hoping and believing there is a way to stay healthy without a life of medication & monthly steroid injections!
Eventually, I got an appointment with the rheumatoid specialist who wanted to put me on a programme of drugs to help fight this disease, I was so grateful to undertake any advice given as this was the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. The drug they gave me was methotrexate, a cancer drug! I came away feeling delighted in them helping me move forward in improving my life but apprehensive in putting these drugs into my body after spending time & energy into researching what was good for my body & soul.
After a couple of months of turmoil, working out what drugs worked best for me it became even more evident that the clean food/ lifestyle that I had undertaken before made my pain ease & my mind clearer. I wanted to stay focused on my mindset & have a clear mind & healthy body! Reflecting on this and remembering Denise's book how the medication will always be pushed on us as there is so much time & research that goes into developing these drugs but wondering if this is for me!!
One year on & I'm still taking the CBD with a reduced amount of prescribed drugs to reduce inflammation in my body. I'm so grateful for the knowledge I have gained during this season in my life & I'm overjoyed to say I'm pain-free & living my best life.
Thank you for introducing me to a cleaner way of living which has enabled me to live life to the full once again.

During lockdown Russ had no treatment in the UK. They refused to scan him when he had more pain in his hips. He then looked elsewhere for scans, and other treatments and this place in Istanbul (Chemothermia.com) came up. His first scan with them showed the cancer had travelled extensively. His oncologist in the UK said he needs to prepare his family and put his 'house in order'.
He's on chemo but it's a different one to the UK - not available there. It's followed by heating the body up to 45 degrees (body wrapped up in this heavy blanket). Russ said its far more unbearable than the chemo. Then huge does of vitamin E - a whole different way of eating - NO sugar, limited carbs. Plus huge does of insulin (think that's it?). He can't praise it enough because of the way he's treated - with hope and support.
Now after just after three months of on/off treatment (one week on, one off, £7000 per week) it's gone from hips, lungs, spine and various lymph nodes. Just his liver that the UK operated on three times. We know he's not out of the woods however he's determined to live. When a doctor believes in the best of you - it's half the battle. xx
